Sadly on the 7th of February 2009, Margaret Isabel McGee ( nee Ashford ) passed away after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret was the most beautiful mother of three daughters, Wendy,Jackie and Diane, whom she loved unconditionally and did not want to leave! Her three son-in-laws Wayne, Paul and Malcolm thought the world of her.

Margaret was also blessed with 6 beautiful grandchildren, Rebecca, Francesca, Sian, Christopher, Sophie and Harry who love and miss her everyday. Rebecca's husband Steve, Sian's partner Gareth and Sophie's partner David were also a very big part of her extended family and loved very much.

Also a great and very important part of Margarets life were her beloved brothers and sisters; Beryl, Janet, the late Val, Kath, John and Robert who she loved like her children and helped bring them up due to her mothers early death.

The following Poem was written by Margaret’s sister Beryl before they realised how seriously ill Margaret was:

Our Sister Margaret

Mam never would have left us to face this world alone
That’s why she chose you Margaret out of everyone she knew,
She knew that you were special, considerate and kind
That’s why she chose you Margaret for all of us to mind,
She knew that you would take care of us in every kind of way,
We love you dear sister with every passing day,
We all know dear sister that you have been so ill
But God has given you that strength to get you well again,
Because he knows we need you so to get us through each day,
We love you dear sister more than words can ever say
Mam must have chosen an Angel in every special kind of way,
She knew what she was doing leaving us in your care on that day,
This verse is not to make you sad it’s to tell you how we feel,
God bless you dear sister for everything you have done
We know you will be there for us in all the years to come.

Margaret loved her family dearly and through them she will live on in their hearts and minds, we all know she is in a better place, in no more pain, but it doesn't take away the pain of losing her and wishing she was back with us xxx

Margaret's favourite psalm 23:

THE LORD’S MY SHEPHERD

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Nanny,

I can't believe it is nearly two years since you were taken from us!! I miss you so much!! A day does not go by when I do not think of you and miss you!! When things happen, I still think about picking the phone up to ring you!! In two years it has not got easier, I just miss you more and more!!

I would do anything for one more squeeze !

All my love forever,

My Nanny x

Nanny, each day has been so hard without you, you were our everything, our rock! Though it has not been very long, there is so much you have missed, so much I have longed to share with you, to talk to you about, to show you pictures, and to just have a squeezy cuddle! We were so lucky to have had you in our lives, you were beautiful, kind and loved us with all your heart. There is a hole now without you that nothing can ever fill. We cling to the memories with tears and laughter, but always with the knowledge that we will one day see you again. I can't thank you enough for everything you gave me, you are the best Nanny in the whole wide world (and you knew it ! x), you were so precious. I know you are peaceful now and out of pain, so I pray that God will look after us all till we are together again. I love you with all my heart, and miss you more and more each passing day. I promise to make you proud Nanny, Your Soph x
